Enjoy some great Italian or Greek food and either listen to some performers as they showcase their talent or get up on stage and show your own talent. The stage is yours! 2011 Independence Day Celebration

The 2011 Independence Day celebration will be held on July 2, 2011 in Chatsworth, Georgia. The festivities will take place at the Murray County Recreation Department facility starting at 4 PM. There will be food, plenty of fun for the children like an inflatable slide, games, a train, and a mechanical bull. A concert will begin at 6 PM featuring the Fort Mountain Boys. A fireworks display will follow the concert at approximately 10 PM.

2011 Fun Show

The Murray County Saddle Club is hosting the 2011 Fun Show in Chatsworth, Georgia on April 1, May 6, June 3, August 5, September 2, and October 7, 2011. Each of these shows will have a variety of fun horse races to watch. The gates open at 5 PM and the races begin at 7 PM. Here is a list of the races that will be run at each of the events:
Stick Horse Race
Walk/Trot (ages 12 and under)
Open Walk/Trot
Panty Race
Catalog Race
Tunnel Race
Tater Race
Flag Race
Youth Poles (ages 16 and under)
Open Poles
Youth Barrels (ages 16 and under)
Open Barrels
Texas Barrels
Buddy Pick Up
Youth Arena Race (ages 16 and under)
Open Arena Race
Gate admission is $3.00. Everyone with a paid admission will receive a ticket for a drawing that will take place some time during the event. The lucky winner will receive $15 and must be present to win.

Horse Camping at Fort Mountain

Plan an equestrian weekend at Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth, GA. Not only are there 25 miles of trails to ride on, there is an area now available where you can camp overnight with your horse. There is primitive camping available with a fire ring, a pit toilet, camper shell with bunks for sleeping bags, and a hitching post. Tents are permitted in the immediate shelter area. There is no electric or water hookups. You can only reach the camping area by hiking or riding in.

Singing Convention

Storytime for Preschoolers

Cherokee Christmas by Candlelight

Visit the Chief Vann House on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 5 PM to 9 PM to enjoy the sights and sounds of an old fashioned 19th Century Cherokee Christmas.
