Red Cross Blood Drive
- November 10, 2010
The First Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Georgia is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on November 18, 2010 from 1 PM to 6 PM. Blood is always needed for hospitals and this is a wonderful way to help save lives.
If you plan to make a blood donation, here are some helpful tips before you go:
Maintain a healthy iron level in your diet by including foods rich in iron.
Get a good nights rest.
Drink an extra 16 oz. glass of water or fluid before you go.
Eat a healthy meal before your donation. Try to stay away from fatty foods as this can affect the testing process done on all donated blood.
Wear clothing that will allow you to lift your sleeve above your elbow.
After your donation:
Drink plenty of liquid for 24 – 48 hours after your donation to replenish any fluid that was lost.
Avoid strenuous physical activity and heavy lifting for about 5 hours.
